Proust and the Arts, co-edited by Christie McDonald and François Proulx, was published by Cambridge University Press (European release: November 2015; US release: January 2016). It features essays by Nathalie Mauriac Dyer, Sophie Duval, Christie McDonald, Virginie Greene, Susan Ricci Stebbins, John Hamilton, Kazuyoshi Yoshikawa, Suzanne Guerlac, Caroline Weber, Elaine Scarry, Françoise Leriche, Sindhumathi Revuluri, Evelyne Ender, Elisabeth Ladenson, Maurice Samuels, François Proulx, and Antoine Compagnon.
Armine Kotin Mortimer published an article on Roland Barthes in the first volume of Barthes Studies: "Barthes’s Places: Les Lieux." The publication date was the 100th anniversary of Barthes’s birth: November 12, 2015.
Jean-Jacques Poucel translated an article by Jacques Roubaud, "Stein Grammaticus," feautured in the recently published book, Gertrude Stein and Europe.
François Proulx delivered a paper entitled "Reading the Improper in Jean Santeuil" at the Nineteenth-Century French Studies Colloquium at Princeton University, on November 7.
Honors and Awards
François Proulx and Caroline Szylowicz received a Research Support Award from the Illinois Campus Research Board for a project titled "Marcel Proust’s Correspondence: Toward a Digital Edition."
