The Department's fall reception is this Friday, 5-7 p.m. at Karen and Alain Fresco's (511 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Urbana). Please come and meet the new graduate students.

Lectures next week

Professor David Caron, Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, University of Michigan "Small Talk: Reflections on HIV Disclosure" Lucy Ellis Lounge (1080 FLB) Wednesday, October 6, 5 p.m.

Professor Caron will also be giving an informal talk in the "Exploring Paris" course: "Paris, Visible and Invisible" The talk is open to people not enrolled in the class. The class meets in 217 Noyes Lab, just down the street from FLB. This will be Thursday, October 7, 11 a.m.

Adlai Murdoch: "Transformations of Caribbean Identity in Global Culture.” Presented to the Caribbean Globalizations Conference, Oriel College, Oxford University, UK, September 27-29, 2010.
